Return to work

It was the quietest winter I’ve had in a while, I think, in terms of taking time off and not having work to do. On the weekend the GF and went for a very pleasant walk in the Belgrad forest. The first part of it, which was on an established trail, we passed about a dozen or two people. The longer part, on paths which were marked on Google Maps and in places had a red or blue marker nailed to a tree, was completely empty of people. Importantly, the walk opened up a possibility, as it suddenlu becomes possible to travel to a forest for a weekend walk.

Today I returned to work, though most others did not, so it was a quiet sort of day.

Thanks to the GF, I’ve started listening to audiobooks, after months of complaining about how unsatisfactory I find podcasts. This seems like a good solution. In the morning, listen to a podcast update if there is one. In the evening, when cooking, listen to an audiobook when timing accurately is less of a concern. Right now I’m listening to a free one, a volume about life in ancient Egypt written in the 60s and though apparently updated about a decade ago, certainly sounds like it was written long before my birth. I’m not sure how far I can depend on it for accuracy, but it’s good for giving general impressions at least.
